In this chapter the author is leading up making It look like Petey's grandfather is going to loose the farm. When his father had gotten to gramps farm (its always 80 miles) and claimed "80 miles". Petey thought, 'what if this is the last time he will every say it, or would it be the last time he ever did?'. Petey didn’t know if him and his father or even family would ever drive out to the farm again. Another thing that showed this was when they got there and the police and a man who was dressed up pulled into the driveway. The man who was in the suit bid for the farm, much more then everyone else. The police gave it to that man, and when that happened. Everything broke loose, men were yelling and fighting the police. The police ended up not giving the farm away to the man in the suit but drove away and left it with gramps.
